FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

EWOUDE is a manufacturer specializing in micro-drive systems and motion solutions. Our capabilities cover the design and manufacturing of motors, precision gearboxes, and drive and control electronics.

We support OEM customers throughout the product development cycle, from engineering development and prototyping to validation and mass production.

2. Can you develop a custom motor, gearbox, or integrated drive solution?

Yes. We develop customized motion solutions based on specific application requirements.

Depending on the project, our engineering capabilities can include:

  • Brushed DC motors
  • BLDC motors
  • Precision gearboxes
  • Motor + gearbox assemblies
  • Drive and control electronics
  • Integrated motor, gearbox, and drive systems

For custom gearbox projects, we can work with requirements such as gear ratio, output speed, torque, dimensions, shaft configuration, mounting requirements, operating conditions, and other application-specific constraints.

3. What information do you need for a custom project?

The required information depends on the type of project. Typical requirements include:

  • Application and operating conditions
  • Required output speed and torque
  • Gear ratio
  • Motor voltage and power
  • Available installation space
  • Shaft and mounting requirements
  • Duty cycle and operating time
  • Noise or backlash requirements
  • Estimated order quantity
  • Existing drawings, specifications, or reference samples

If some specifications are not yet finalized, our engineering team can help identify the key parameters required for development.

4. Can you work from an existing drawing, specification, or sample?

Yes. We can evaluate existing drawings, technical specifications, reference samples, or existing products as part of a development project.

Based on the available information and application requirements, our engineering team can assess the existing design and determine the appropriate development approach, including modification, optimization, or integration with a suitable motor and drive system.

5. Do you provide prototypes or samples before mass production?

Yes. Prototype and sample development can be carried out to verify the design before volume production.

Depending on the project, the development process may include:

Requirement Review → Design → Prototype → Testing & Validation → Mass Production

The sample stage allows key performance parameters and application requirements to be evaluated before proceeding to mass production.

6. How do you ensure product quality and consistency?

Quality control is applied throughout the manufacturing process, including incoming materials, production, assembly, testing, and final inspection.

Products are tested according to their applicable specifications and agreed technical requirements before shipment.

For customized projects, validation can also be performed against defined performance requirements before mass production.

7. What is your typical development and production lead time?

Lead time depends on the product, level of customization, tooling requirements, order quantity, and development stage.

Standard products can generally be supplied faster than fully customized products. Custom projects may require additional time for engineering development, prototyping, testing, and validation before mass production.

The final lead time is confirmed based on the approved specifications, development requirements, and order quantity.

8. Can you support both prototypes and mass production?

Yes. EWOUDE supports projects from prototype and sample development through validation and mass production.

Working with the same engineering and manufacturing team throughout the development cycle helps maintain continuity as a product moves from initial design into production.

Our goal is to provide a practical path from engineering concept to production-ready motion solution.

9. Can you customize products according to our specifications?

Yes. Depending on the project, customization may include mechanical configuration, gear ratio, shaft design, motor parameters, electrical characteristics, drive functions, labeling, packaging, and other agreed requirements.

For OEM projects, customization details are evaluated and confirmed during the engineering and quotation process.

10. Can you sign an NDA for a new development project?

Yes, when required for a confidential product development project, we can work under an NDA according to mutually agreed confidentiality terms.

Technical drawings, specifications, samples, and other project information can be handled in accordance with the agreed requirements.

11. What is your MOQ for customized products?

MOQ depends on the product type, level of customization, tooling requirements, and expected production volume.

Prototype, sample, and mass-production quantities may have different requirements. Please provide your application and estimated quantity so that we can evaluate the project and confirm the applicable MOQ.

12. What certifications and compliance documents are available?

Available certifications and compliance documentation depend on the specific product and application requirements.

Relevant documentation may include CE, RoHS, and FCC, where applicable. Specific compliance requirements can be reviewed during the project evaluation and quotation process.

13. What are your payment terms?

Payment terms depend on the product, order quantity, project stage, and customer relationship.

For new orders, payment terms are confirmed in the quotation and sales agreement. Standard payment terms may be 30% T/T as a deposit and 70% balance against shipping documents, unless otherwise agreed.

14. How can I start a custom project with EWOUDE?

You can start by providing your application requirements, target performance specifications, drawings or reference samples, and estimated quantity.

Our team will review the information and determine the appropriate development approach. Depending on the project, this may involve a standard product recommendation, gearbox customization, motor integration, or a complete motor + gearbox + drive solution.
